The air filter assembly is a black plastic box connected with a thick soft rubber hose, usually on the side of the car engine compartment. One end of the air filter assembly is connected to the air inlet pipe, the other end to the engine. The one with turbocharger is connected to the engine through the turbocharger.
1. Slowly force apart the metal clips around the air filter assembly or loosen the screw with a screwdriver, lift the whole air filter box cover forward then take out the filter element.
When removing the filter assembly, if the rubber hose is touched, the screwdriver can be used to loosen the pipe clamp, then remove one end to take out the dirty air filter element. Clean the air inlet box with the high-pressure air nozzle within the right distance. Use the bicycle air pump or the soft brush. After replacing with a new air filter, flatten all sides by hand, install the assembly shell, and buckle the metal clip or tighten the screw with a screwdriver.
Note:
Always remember the process when removing the air filter. If the filter installation does not go well, you should not use brute force, but find out the reason before continuing.
2. Replacement cycle and notes
According to different driving environment, different air filters for cars generally need to be regularly checked and replaced, which can be adjusted according to their own driving conditions and mileage. For areas with large dust, the replacement cycle should be appropriately shortened.
Notes:
(1) Air filter is not water-washable.
(2) Air filter should not be used after blowing with an air gun.
(3) There should be no moisture left in the air inlet box.
(4) The damaged air filter must be replaced in time.
