With the hot weather, car air conditioning has become a powerful support for us to drive out. There is a key component inside the air conditioning that can filter out dust and debris in the air and provide a healthier car interior environment. That is the cabin filter in a car.
Over time, the cabin filter in a car can get clogged and needs to be replaced in a timely manner. However, some car owners have encountered an embarrassing situation when replacing the air filter: they cannot distinguish the front and back of the new air filter and do not know how to install it!
Don't think that the front and back are the same and randomly installed. If the cabin filter in a car is installed incorrectly, the air flow rate of the air conditioning may decrease, and the service life of the air filter may be greatly reduced.
First of all, we need to understand why there are directional requirements for installing the air filter. The air filter adopts a layered filtration system, and each filtration layer can intercept dust with different diameters, with the aim of increasing the dust capacity of the air filter.
When the installation direction is correct, the dust will first pass through the coarse filtration layer, and large particles will be trapped in this layer, while small particles will enter the inner precision filtration layer. In this way, each filtration layer can accommodate more dust, making the filtering effect of the air filter more durable and less likely to clog.
When the installation direction of the cabin filter in a car is reversed, the dust that enters the car will first pass through the precision filtration layer, at which point all debris particles, regardless of their size, will be trapped in this layer.
As a result, the precision filtration layer will quickly become saturated, while the remaining filtration layers will not play any role. The air filter will quickly become clogged and lose its filtering ability. It can be seen that determining the correct installation direction of the air filter is very important.
In fact, distinguishing the front and back of the air filter is not that difficult. Today, let's learn together. Generally, there are two types of air filters: irregular and regular square shapes.
The irregular shape is relatively simple, just install it in the reserved position of the cabin filter in a car.
The regular square shape air filter in car, which is easy to install incorrectly, is the cabin filter in a car. This is because the front and back of the product are the same. How can we distinguish the front and back of this type of air filter? Actually, the air filter product has installation indication marks.
Currently, air filter products on the market generally have two types of installation indication marks: one type is "AIR FLOW+↑" and "↑", and the other is "UP+↑".
What do these two types of indication marks represent?
"AIR FLOW+↑" and "↑" indicate that external air entering the car needs to pass through the filter in the direction indicated by the arrow, which is the direction of the air flow.
"UP+↑" indicates that this side of the cabin filter in a car should be facing up, and the arrow should be facing up when installed in this direction. This type of indication mark usually appears on horizontally installed air filters.
